Facebook Offers Custom Audiences To All Businesses

By the end of November, Facebook will allow each and every business to use Custom Audiences to make their advertisements highly customer specific and effective. Custom Audiences was previously available only through Facebook’s API and Power Editor tool.

What do we mean by Custom Audiences?

Every business has a target audience. For example, if a business is selling high-end pens, most probably its target audience is middle-level and top-level corporate executives and businessmen. Generally, when businesses create advertisements, they do not have an option to target only specific group of people. Their advertisements will be seen by all and sundry. With Custom Audiences, that wouldn’t be the case. Whatever advertisement is created by the business, it will be viewed only by the relevant audience.

Any business can create Custom Audiences by just uploading their customer email lists or MailChip list. That’s it. Their Custom Audiences is created.

Will Google’s Latest Update Hummingbird Impact Your Website Ranking?

Google again tweaked its search engine algorithm, calling it Hummingbird. And as it had happened with Penguin and Panda updates, Hummingbird has left businesses in quandary as to how much the change has impacted the traffic on their website and what will be their future. To find answers to these questions, you will first need to understand what is Hummingbird and then take the stock of the situation. So let’s first understand what’s Hummingbird.

Hummingbird is Google’s latest response to the changing ways of users. Initially, users used to use short keywords to search for the information they were looking for. If they wanted to eat a pizza, they used to search with keywords “pizza place” or “pizza restaurant,” but with passage of time, users started getting specific, they started looking for accurate and precise information. They started using phrases such as “glutton-free pizza in Portland” to look for specific kind of pizza. Also, with the boom in the market of smart phone users, more and more users started accessing Google from their mobile.Google Hummingbird

To keep up with these changing times, Google started making changes to its algorithm with the updates such as Penguin, Panda and Hummingbird. This latest change, Hummingbird, is quite advanced in a way because it will no longer just see the words. It will understand the meaning behind those words to offer the most relevant results to its users. Meaning, the liberal use of keywords in the content just lost its value; keywords got replaced by longtail keywords. So if you have a website which is full of keywords without sentences making sense, you will lose most of your traffic and Google ranking.

Have you lost good amount of traffic in light of Hummingbird update? If so, you need to change the content of your website. Pronto. Your website needs to have the content which is relevant and meaningful enough for Google’s search engine algorithm to understand it. Unless the content is relevant, your website won’t show up on the top of the search engine results.

Another thing you can do to attract more traffic is to make your mobile website user friendly. Use large fonts, easy navigation layout and engaging interface to keep your visitors happy and occupied.
